Welcome to the Garza-Peña Kodiak Library!
My name is Carmen Noyola, and it is a genuine privilege to be able to serve the Garza-Peña community as your librarian. I have been an educator for over 35 years, yet it never gets old to see the excitement of children when they find a book they really like or discover something new from what they read. Our library is so much more than a collection of books. I believe the library is a safe haven for curious minds, a place to showcase creativity, and a hub for learning.
At our library you will:
- participate in literacy activities such as book clubs, book discussions, literacy centers, and poetry writing to support reading comprehension and critical thinking.
- express your creativity through storytelling, writing projects, and art related to library themes.
- celebrate literary events such as book fairs, author visits, family nights, and La Lunada.
- develop a love for reading and learning by exploring new ideas and perspectives through literature.
LIBRARY HOURS & LITERACY NIGHTS:
Library is open 7:30 A.M.-4:00 P.M. daily
Family Library Night will usually be on the first Thursday of every month.
