PSJA North Early College High School Thespians named UIL 5A State Champions
PHARR – Making campus history, the PSJA North Early College High School (PSJA North ECHS) thespians were recently named the University Interscholastic Leagues (UIL) 2024 5A Theatre Team State Champions during the UIL State Theatre Competition held in Austin, Texas.
The UIL State Champion Theatre Team award combines the results from all PSJA North ECHS students who advanced to the second level of competition in UIL State One-Act Play, UIL State Film, and UIL State Theatrical Design. Being named State Champions is the highest honor a high school student theatre team can receive.
This prestigious win marks a significant achievement for the talented students and dedicated directors of PSJA North ECHS, showcasing their excellence in theatre arts.
The judges witnessed PSJA North’s thespians compete against top high schools from across the state. Their outstanding performances and creativity in numerous categories captivated the judges and audiences.
“We are so proud of our PSJA North UIL State Champion Theatre Team! Their talent, dedication, and hard work led them to this highest of honors,” said PSJA Fine Arts Director Jon Taylor. “They are a credit to their families, their school, their community and PSJA ISD. Congratulations theatre students and directors!”
